Jenny Brewer idfx
The ninth annual London Design Festival is already in full swing, and with hundreds of events, exhibitions, talks and parties taking place across the capital, it's difficult to know where to go first. The idfx team will be hot-footing it around as many as we can handle, so here's our top ten must-see events to help you with your schedule...
HEMMA - Swedish Design Goes London at the residence
The Ambassador of Sweden has opened up her residence at 27 Portland Place to be transformed with modern Swedish design (top image). A beautiful selection of highly desirable pieces juxtaposed against the magnificent 18th Century architecture makes this a unique and unmissable event. www.sdgl.mono.net
Decorex
Every interior designer worth their salt can be seen perusing the wares shown at Decorex. That is just what I'll be doing together with Tara Bernerd and Karen Howes as we judge the idfx Best Contemporary Product Award on Sunday 25th September. Also, idfx editor Tim Wallace will host a talk entitled Interiors Yesterday, Interiors Tomorrow together with Tim Gosling, Joanna Wood and Katherine Pooley, taking place at 11am on Monday 26th September. www.decorex.com
Shoreditch Design Triangle
Lee Broom, SCP and Andaz Liverpool Street are just some of the 34 galleries, shops and studios taking part in this year's Shoreditch Design Triangle for LDF, with late night openings across the district on Tuesday 20th September. Don't miss The Living Room, an exhibition of products designed and produced in Britain and displayed as they would be in a typical UK sitting room. Curated by idfx contributor Alyn Griffiths together with Jonathan Krawczuk, founder of DesignedMade, the show will feature work by Dare Studio, Deadgood, Benchmark, De La Espada, Established & Sons and many more. www.livingroomexhibition.co.uk
