Sanderson celebrates its 150th anniversary this year with an exhibition of its finest fabrics and wallpaper and an accompanying book, 'Sanderson: The Essence of English Decoration'. The show, which opened today, leads visitors through its archive, from antique leather-paper prints to 1970s Chintz collections, showing how the company have been at the forefront of decorative British design across eras.

The exhibition, entitled 'Very Sanderson, 150 Years of English Decoration', leads visitors through the brand's evolution, charting the history of its design and technological advancements with a beautiful range of wallpaper prints, fabrics, classic advertisements and photographs to match. An original wallpaper panel from 1908, 'The Cedar Tree and Peacock Chintz', shows the detail of its 150 colours and two metre design repeat, while the retro advertising campaign featuring Petula Clark explores Sanderson's dominance in a very floral decade.

Exhibition open 19th March - 13th June 2010 at the Fashion and Textile Museum, London.

Absolutely beautiful peacock panel. Would be great to have that as a print. Reminds me of Warsaw, Poland where the peacocks roam the parks there.
