Lampe Gras revival

The return of La Lampe Gras makes its Australian debut at designEx this April
The Lampe Gras, created by French engineer Bernard-Albin Gras in 1921, has become an icon in the history of lighting. The series was originally developed for use in offices and industrial environments and became equally popular in residential applications.
In its basic form, the Lampe Gras doesn't have any screws or welded joints, earning it a reputation among adoring architects and a world-wide cult following. Production stopped at the outbreak of World War II and only now, after more than a year of experimentation, they are once again being made by hand in France.
Anyone visiting Australia's designEx in April can see La Lampe Gras being exhibited by Spence & Lyda.
