Ecobuild 2010: bigger than ever
February 24, 2010
Next week Earl's Court will be the place to be for all things sustainable with the 2010 edition of Ecobuild. It's no surprise this year's show is set to be the biggest ever. With a wealth of seminars, conferences and other interactive workshops, this three-day event (Tuesday through Thursday) will satisfy both eco experts and novices.
Ecobuild's vast seminar programme offers an overwhelming choice of topics--it's best to plan your trip around topics you like. www.echobuild.co.uk/seminars has the full list.
The conference programme hasn't overlooked the upcoming election, and Government minister, and members of the main opposition party are among the speakers. www.ecobuild.co.uk has the details.
We've scoped out several exciting product launches to check out while you're there, but they're only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to new sustainable building and design products on show.

Dyson
Preview the new, white Dyson Airblade hand dryer before it launches. There'll be a working unit on the stand made from polycarbonate ABS and an energy efficient Dyson digital motor. Stand 1050

Grant Westfield
The countless materials and decorative options available on the new Façade Deco cubicle will leave your head spinning, so we'd prefer to let them tell you about it all. Stand 2478

PhotonStarLED Ltd
Upgrading from a CFL downlight to the new Nemesis SmartLuminaire can save 40 to 60% of energy usage, says PhotonStar. Combine it with occupancy sensor inputs and those numbers leap even higher. Stand 337

Fakro GB Ltd
Crack the window and step outside, we dare you. Opening from the top and bottom, the Balcony Window has a built-in balustrade to maximise natural light when shut, or access to walk outside when open. Stand 1363
