William Pianta Nahoor collection
January 22, 2010
An epic saga is being conveyed by William Pianta's new Nahoor collection of lighting. Nahoor, which means 'source', expresses the journey of light and metal and is making its debut at the Maison and Object concept. Pianta hopes to tell the story of the 'domestic sphere,' creating pieces that represent the reliance on light.
Each individual lighting fixture is given uniqueness and uses clean cut lines to enhance the radiance of the light. Nahoor introduces nine ranges each focusing on a spiritual awareness. One collection, aptly titled, Gaia is a suspended light fixture. Boxed and in a variety of bold colours, this shade seems to be embodying the sun and continues to focus on the emotion of light.
Barbette(above), another of the designs, hopes to resemble a goblet, aiming to resemble the chalice of life. It is fortunate that this chalice is a chrome floor lamp because we wouldn't want any drink-induced electrical accidents.
One of the ranges seems to be unfortunately titled Moony(above) and promises to spread, no pun intended, the light all round the room with its reflective surfaces.
The Nahoor range premiers 22 to 26 January 2010.
