The Red Room
January 28, 2010
The Red Room is a concept designed by Linedota, and are serviced apartments combining the ultimate in luxury with the very peak in eco-friendly technology.
The room keeps with Linedota's 'cradle to cradle' approach, which in its simplest term aims to conserve and sustain environmental resources. Linedota's focus seems to be on 'limitations' and challenging them. They try to go away from the conventional and answer questions others will not.
A more appropriate title would be the 'green room' as the whole concept is designed as not to produce any toxic by-products. The room is naturally cooled, maximises daylight, recovers its own heat and recycles its own water. While maximising its all natural stature it does not skimp on lavish features, including its glass sliding doors, its unbeatable bathroom, and scarlet theme through out.
But while I love the idea of a euphoric hotel room where you can relax, safe in the knowledge, that while you are taking a break, so is nature, I do not exactly see the relaxing qualities of a blood red room... is anyone else getting a 'Shining' feel?
However I do support Linedota's approach to keep business travellers' carbon-footprint down. I also like the incredibly futurist look, and while maintaining that this is a concept, I do hope that hotels begin to see the potential in this interpretation.
