Panama Pacifico's: international business park
January 27, 2010
Phase one of the construction of the Panama Pacifico's international business park, IBP, is complete. The park was designed by Ware Malcomb and is located 15-minutes from Panama City and is surrounded by forest. It is in close proximity to both the Pan-American Highway and the Panama Canal, catering to the business needs of its prospective users.
The IBP also boasts more than 100,000 square meters of office space and 22,000 square meters of industrial space that will be woven together with trees and plants. The 'green' theme runs through out the whole area and the master plan promises to interlace the existing natural habitat within the campus setting. The project includes a variety of green corridors, plazas, and a 'river like' water feature that helps to maintain the tropical atmosphere.
The buildings include employees' residential units and all levels will have restaurants, retail, recreation and other amenities. With a variety of potential tenants, they are designing the aesthetics based on the local Panamanian environment. A good plan, seeing as Panama is one of the most up-and-coming states of Central America. One of the central banking areas of the World, it is essential to keep the locals happy with this new structure.
Construction for this project began in early March 2009 and was completed in early December of 2009.
