The Brompton Design district was buzzing last week with many of the shops launching their new summer ranges to the public and showing the Autumn/Winter pieces to the press. First up was Priscilla Carluccio's shop Few and Far

The shop was a riot of colour with the summer range brought straight in from all over India. As a 16 year old I loved traditional Indian style so much I had plans to run away with the Hare Krishnas, fortunately I grew out of the phase but still love the colours, sparkle and the iconography used by Indian artisans so was very happy to be immersed in the stuff.

Priscilla has been travelling to India for around 40 years, developing handicrafts, working in Paniput for dhurries, Hyderabad for ikats and Rajasthan for marble and the summer stock is a culmunation of her travels.

There were beautiful textiles, hand blocked linens, painted tin trunks in style of Jaipur lorries and Chai stools made of found materials. There was even a white elephant in the window. image.jpg
