Tom Savini - Extreme Makeover Home Edition

News from my world today, was that horror legend Tom Savini (make-up genius behind Friday 13th The Final Chapter, Dario Argento's Trauma and Creepshow to name but a few, as well as starring in Dawn of the Dead and From Dusk til Dawn)assisted the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition team to transform a boy's room in to a ghoulish swamp.
Savini runs 2 courses at the nearby Douglas Education Center (DEC)and jumped at the chance to take some of his students along to get practical experience.
The DEC website explains:
DEC received a phone call from one of the show's designers to see if they could help with the Drumm family build in Quincy Township, PA. One of the sons in the family, Donnie, was a huge special make-up effects and Tom Savini fan. And with Savini having two programs at DEC, and living in the area, it was a perfect match.
Tom Savini even made a guest appearance in the boy's new spooky room and encouraged him to continue with his special make-up effects hobby.
They always say never meet your hero as you'll be disappointed, well unless your hero is Tom Savini!
