Tomorrow morning I'm off to see the Patricia Urquiola pottery exhibition at the Design Museum, featuring excellent pieces like this:

And we're up

All WIDN sites went live yesterday (Monday 19), and we're now ready to face the world. I thought I'd share this not least to recognise the late nights, weekends, blood, sweat, tears, etc, that the team put into meeting our launch deadline - and also to reassure readers that I'm now going to make room for writers on this blog to talk about interior design, rather than our web design.

Getting started
January 15, 2009

Hello and welcome to World Interior Design Network, the essential information resource for the design industry. We've been working hard for the last few months to get these sites launched, so it's good to see we're finally almost ready.

We've got some excellent launch articles. Some of the best include a piece by Dave Wheeldon on how the TOUCH Centre in Taiwan is re-inventing home design; Dave Warburton's feature on office lighting (published in association with FMX), and idFX assistant editor Becky Hoh's favourite hotel. And I've written a piece on the Royal London Hospital development in Whitechapel, not least because the new project is the view from my living room window.

I hope you enjoy the sites and find our content useful; we'll be keeping this blog regularly updated to let you know what we're up to.
